Job Description Summary:
Reports directly to the Director of Research Administration Accounting and Financial Reporting with responsibilities for executing required financial reporting included in the month-end closing and audit processes for the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute Inc. (KUMCRI) and its subsidiary corporations.

Job Description:

Represent KUMCRI as a primary contact with external auditors in conducting the annual financial statement audit.

Complete year-end close procedures to facilitate the completion of KUMCRI's external audit.

Create and analyze monthly statements and account reconciliations.

Oversee the Research Administration division's compliance with rate structures & methodologies, invoicing, revenue posting and collections processes.

Monitor bank accounts and cash management activity.

Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain Research Administration's integrations with the Workday financial and accounting system.

Ensure proper revenue recognition of Federal, State, Private and Contribution Awards in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 958.

Responsible for the processing of royalty payments of KU Center for Technology Commercialization.

Design, prepare and present financial training sessions for principal investigators, study coordinators, and department administrators.

Perform other related work as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Business, or related field.

Four plus years of related work experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the position.
