Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Manager manages the financial reporting staff May work with external auditors to provide requested information. May assist with the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Additionally, Financial Reporting Manager requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a director. The Financial Reporting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Financial Reporting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):

     

    1. Effectively manage the financial reporting of SanAm’s manufacturing operations.

     

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties required for successful job performance): 

     

    1. Effectively manage the financial reporting of SanAm’s manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include:  Creating / Reviewing monthly forecast and close, develop annual budget and LRP, Assist the DMD of Operations with the day to day financial analysis and what if scenarios.
    2. Ensure robust financial policies and systems, with ongoing continuous improvement activities as needed
    3. Facilitate timely internal and external reporting as required, ensure timely communication and reporting of financial measurable, ensure compliance with all regulatory entities
    4. Provide / facilitate effective supervision of the plant controllers, provide personal direction and support for / motivation and development of the plant controllers 

     

     


     

     

     
     
     
     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).

     

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience
    2. Designation preferred (CMA, CFM, or CPA), or equivalent experience
    3. Minimum 10 years progressive accounting experience, with preference for automotive manufacturing
    4. Minimum 5 years supervision of Accounting staff, with multi-plant / multi-national experience is preferred

     

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).

     

    1. Effective organizational and time-management skills; Able to manage multiple projects and priorities
    2. Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;  
    3. Intermediate MS-Office skills, with proficiency in Excel
    4. Effective supervisory skills (conflict management, performance management, etc.)
    5. Working knowledge of Japanese business culture
    6. Effective presentation and meeting leadership / facilitation skills
    7. Effective analytical / problem-solving skills
    8. General knowledge of manufacturing processes, automotive preferred
    9. Proficient knowledge of business and accounting principles

     

     

    REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).

     

    1. This position must “ensure robust financial policies and systems.”  If poor decisions are made, results could include excessive / unnecessary costs due to unchecked spending, higher loan rates, etc.
    2. This position must “ensure compliance with all regulatory entities.”  If poor decisions are made, results could include both financial and legal penalties, as well as loss of confidence in the company with customers, other business partners, and the community.

    1. This position reports to the Financial Division Manager and has dotted line to DMD of Operations

     

    1. The Plant Controllers are dotted line to this position

    1. Office work environment
    2. Occasional travel is required, including overnight stays
    3. Overtime of varying levels may be required for this position
