Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Manager manages the financial reporting staff May work with external auditors to provide requested information. May assist with the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Additionally, Financial Reporting Manager requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a director. The Financial Reporting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Financial Reporting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager group based in Irvine, CA you will serve as a technical accounting and regulatory subject matter resource for Global Finance and to Capital Group broadly. You will oversee the completion of bank and broker dealer regulatory filings, the production of private-company financial statements, and the coordination of related audits. You will develop your team by providing technical direction, leadership, and training and by reviewing work prepared by other associates.

    • You possess a deep technical accounting expertise, performing complex technical accounting and regulatory analysis, and encouraging the implementation of best practices in internal controls.
    • You have extensive knowledge of GAAP and experience in researching complex accounting matters for proper treatment in public and private accounting within a large corporate environment.
    • You are a problem solver and comfortable with navigating complexity and uncertainty of change.
    • You see the big picture and can breakdown high level objectives into an actionable execution plan with clear responsibilities and processes.
    • You are skilled at anticipating business needs, framing and performing complex analytics, developing business insights, and influencing senior level key stakeholders with recommended solutions.
    • You work well with and through others, act with a sense of ownership and drive effective accountability.
    • You collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships to enable effective completion of business objectives and influence business outcomes.
    • You embody our core values and can motivate and develop a high performing team.
    • You have a degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly desired.


    Southern California Base Salary Range: $148,045-$236,872

    In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
