Job Summary

The Supervisor of Financial Clearance supervises and oversees the day-to-day activities of the authorization and financial clearance department.  Responsible for supervising staff and workload to ensure that work is performed accurately and timely.  Acts as a subject matter expert with staff to assist in resolving issues and enhancing processes.     

Job Responsibilities

• Supervises staff on a day to day basis including coaching, motivating, training, interviewing, hiring and corrective actions.
• Analyzes work queues and distributes work to ensure all work is performed timely and accurately.
• Performs a wide range of complex duties related to handling authorization and financial clearance.
• Monitors work queues, reports, dashboards and KPIs to ensure team is meeting expectations and productivity goals are reached or surpassed.
• Reviews and collaborates with the team to strategize or recommend process improvements of procedures and practices for streamlining or automation, cost savings and operational improvements.
• Adheres to all department and organization policies and procedures as well as all state and federal laws and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum:  High school diploma or GED
• Preferred:  Associate’s. degree or higher

Experience Requirements

• Minimum:  Three (3) years of experience working in patient access and EPIC EHR, with preferred experience in scheduling and authorizations.  One (1) year or more in a leadership role.          
• Preferred:  Five (5) years of experience working in patient access and Epic EHR, with preferred experience in scheduling and authorizations. Three (3) years or more in a leadership position supervising staff.
