My client is seeing a dynamic and tech-savvy Lab Supervisor who excels in customer service, possesses strong leadership skills, and has a keen focus on policy adherence, training, and reporting. As the Lab Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of their laboratory facilities while maintaining high-quality standards. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will oversee lab operations, manage a team of technicians, and uphold compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities for Lab Supervisor:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and timely completion of projects.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team productivity and skill development.
Lab Operations Oversight:
- Coordinate daily activities within the laboratory, including sample processing, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures.
- Implement best practices to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, utilizing your expertise to resolve challenges promptly.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, and providing timely updates on project status and results.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service, addressing concerns proactively, and fostering positive relationships.
Policy Adherence and Compliance:
- Enforce adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to safety protocols, data integrity guidelines, and quality assurance measures.
- Stay informed about updates to relevant regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance within the laboratory.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs for laboratory staff, covering technical skills, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
- Continuously assess training needs and identify opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth among team members.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate accurate and comprehensive reports detailing laboratory activities, test results, and quality metrics, utilizing relevant software and databases.
- Present findings to the Quality Manager and other stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for process improvement and quality enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or related discipline).
- Proven experience in a laboratory environment, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional customer service orientation, with a focus on building and maintaining positive relationships.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO) and industry best practices.
