Position Summary:

Jackson Purchase Medical Center Medical Assistant (Non-Certified) performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office

* Under the supervision of physician, nurse practitioner or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.

* Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

* Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.

* Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a program in discipline preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of employment

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) within 12 months of employment
