SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is assisting with the financial planning, reporting and analysis for Swanson Health Products. This position will develop financial models to support decision making related to complex business issues and prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to produce forecasts of business, industry and/or economic conditions for use in making sound business decisions. The position will also perform accounting functions for the SHP Accounting team and serve as a business partner to the SHP Commercial Sales team, performing accounting and credit functions for the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the development of the long-range financial plans, including the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, and continuously analyzes operating financial results; partners with other departments within SHP to ensure that strategic initiatives are achieved.
- Prepares and distributes financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance; identifies causes of change.
- Provide Ad Hoc reports, analysis and forecasts on both financial and non-financial data on an as needed basis.
- Actively seeks out process improvements to improve existing procedures and to streamline business processes.
- Provide Accounts Receivable support by creating invoices and posting payments.
- Perform reconciliations and correct issues as they arise, related to Accounts Receivable, credit cards, cash, checks, and other accounts as assigned.
- Partner with the Commercial Sales team by processing customer applications for credit terms and helping to determine credit worthiness.
- Perform other special departmental projects as assigned.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex data sets with an intuitive sense of financial implications.
- Ability to scale from transactional details to high level strategic thinking.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookup, Pivot Tables, and ability to write Macros.
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint; ability to create thoughtful, detailed presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Maintain a high level of respect for confidentiality.
- Cross functional mindset with ability to work as part of a team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required and 2-3 years of Finance experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
