Financial Systems Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the implementation and administration of the organization's financial systems. Oversees the daily operations of the department. Being a Financial Systems Manager researches financial record-keeping and reporting requirements, and ensures that systems are modified to meet these requirements. Creates processes and procedures to ensure best practices for financial systems are used throughout the organization. Additionally, Financial Systems Manager trains departmental staff as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Financial Systems Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Financial Systems Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Role at a Glance


    We are excited to bring on a Manager, Claims to our Supplemental Health Claims Department to work from a remote location and/or one of offices in May 2024.


    Over the past few years, Lincoln’s Workplace Solutions - Group Protection Business has grown and we are looking to support that growth within the Supplemental Health Claims Department! We are excited for the opportunity to expand our dynamic team and hire in this role.


    As a Manager, Supplemental Health Claims, you will be leading a team whose primary responsibility is reviewing, analyzing and accurately processing Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Accident claims. You will ensure that your team has the training and resources necessary to successfully achieve their objectives. You will monitor workloads by providing a daily snapshot of the claims backlog and ensuring that claims are being handled within our turn-around time expectations. You will partner closely with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate the claims process for the best possible outcomes for our claimants. Our team is highly collaborative, and we want you to grow as you help your team serve our customers and clients each day.

    • Be an Expert – By using your Claims and Leadership Expertise and analytical skills, you will assist the Claims Examiners in providing a recommendable customer experience to our claimants.
    • Partner and Collaborate - Utilizing your expertise, you will collaborate and connect daily with Claims Examiners, managers, consultants to review medical documentation to derive appropriate claims outcomes.
    • Engagement and Success – Serve as a leading example of team centered culture by positively providing support and engaging with your team to boost and maintain a high morale.
    • Communicate Effectively - Able to efficiently articulate your opinion and communicate with a varied audience. Professionally use email, telephone, and written correspondence.

    What we’re looking for

    Must-haves:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in business, leadership or a related field
    • 3-5 years leadership experience
    • 3-5 years of experience working with insurance claims, preferably Supplemental Health products such as Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Accident.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer and technical abilities
    • The ability to work on a fast paced, rapidly growing and consistently evolving team

    Nice to have:
    • Leadership skills
    • Experience working with Supplemental Health products (Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Accident)
    • Technical proficiency working with programs Excel and Word.
    • Medical background, specifically in coding or in-direct patient care

    Pay Range: $67,000 - $120,700

    Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
