JOB SUMMARY:
The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. Maintains work area in order and follows established policies and procedures of the community. We are looking to hire someone that is looking for Part-Time hours on our AM shift (6:00am - 2:30pm), and Part-Time hours on our PM shift (4:00pm - 7:30pm)
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with preparation, serving and clean-up of food services as directed.
2. Properly operate equipment in the dining department upon completed training.
3. Follow safety and sanitation techniques as directed.
4. Respond to resident requests, complaints and concerns promptly. Notify supervisor of these concerns as appropriate.
5. Demonstrate respect for facility property and supplies.
6. Accomplish routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
7. Sort and Rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine
8. Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before storing them.
9. Changes dishwater in dish machine as instructed or when soiled.
10.Washes pots, pans, trays using the compartment sinks.
11.Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous work experience preferred
2. Desire to work with seniors
3. Ability to multitask
4. Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution and SDS.
5. Good steward of time and resources.
6. Able to communicate effectively including written and verbal skills.
7. Able to work well both individually and as part of a team through respect, collaboration and dedication.
8. Able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
9. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events
