Production Lead
Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional OT/weekends. 1:30pm - 1130pm
This is a temporary to hire position. Candidates must be able to work through a temporary staffing agency.
Objective: Assist the Production Supervisor in the oversight of production personnel ensuring that production associates are engaged in all phases of production. This may include but is not limited to safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization and cost, training and cross training, and production planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Supervise, evaluate and train (or assist in the training of) production personnel in quality, safety and machine operation
· Maintain a safe and efficient production area
· Coach and motivate production personnel in order to meet deadlines and production goals
· Identify and communicate maintenance repairs, replacements, and upgrades with maintenance staff
· Monitor and track production KPI which may include but not limited to production downtime, waste, product quality,
efficiency
· Direct and guide personnel in daily activities in order to achieve consistent high quality product.
· Coach production personnel, assist in the delivery of progressive discipline
· Update and enforce quality procedures- GMP, CCP, FIFO and other quality related policies
· Maintain an audit ready facility
· Recommend improvements of facility, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
· Accompany USDA inspector and or auditors as needed. Work with Production Supervisor to address and correct deviations
· Other duties assigned.
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma
· 2 years in a food processing/food manufacturing facility.
· Firm knowledge and understanding of manufacturing plant processes preferably with USDA and FDA experience.
· Good written and oral communication skills as this position will interact heavily with customers, both internal and external to Valley Find Foods.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and extrapolate information to different aspects of the job.
· Prior management of people required.
· Able to work with cross functional departments within the organization.
· Excellent problem solving and corrective action/resolution skills.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Strong computer skills with experience using Windows based systems, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
· No travel restrictions (ability to visit all Company facility locations and suppliers).
