Full Job Description

A wonderful opportunity on the Seacoast in the vibrant town of Portsmouth for a host to join the team in a historic upscale steakhouse.

The Library is a top quality, well organized, highly established restaurant looking to add a second front of house host full time for at least 4 evenings a week. Your schedule is 3pm-9pm weekdays and 10pm on weekends. You will co-manage the host desk, answer and return calls, and manage Resy.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for great customer experience, is looking for a permanent long term position in an established and growing team, is extremely comfortable in very busy situations, and is someone who wants to feel part of a team.

Responsibilities

Host Job Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Seat guests, manage the seating chart and server table allocations.
• Work at high pace to high quality standards
• Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Perform opening and closing duties, as needed.
• Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
• Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
• Comply with and enforce dress code liquor regulations and safety standards, and all other safety and security policies and procedures
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

• Experience as a host
• Warmth
• Excellent record of working in a restaurant. Preferably a fast paced one
• Familiar with restaurant POS tools and Resy a plus
