FIRE CAPTAIN manages a team of firefighters. Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and serviced. Being a FIRE CAPTAIN directs training and conditioning activities. Administers the staff work schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Additionally, FIRE CAPTAIN leads and coordinates responses to fire events, hazardous material incidents, auto accidents, and search and rescue operations. Prepares post-incident reports as required. Leads or coordinates fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a manager. The FIRE CAPTAIN manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a FIRE CAPTAIN typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Responsible for safe operation Challenger CL604 aircraft.
- Responsible for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with, but not limited to the following items : Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft.
The conduct of an accurate pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.A complete check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airports to be used, including alternate airports.
Ensure the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of Solairus Aviation and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
Ensure the safety of all passengers, aircraft and crew.Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED
- Total time 3000 hours
- PIC 1500 hours
- MEL 1500
- MEL PIC 500
- Time in Turbo Jet 500 hours
- Instrument Time 250
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Type rated on CL604or light jet experience.
- First class medical required.
- Must be able to complete ICAO International procedures training annually
- Primary residence within a 2 hour drive to KTEB or willing to relocate.
