FIRE CAPTAIN manages a team of firefighters. Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and serviced. Being a FIRE CAPTAIN directs training and conditioning activities. Administers the staff work schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Additionally, FIRE CAPTAIN leads and coordinates responses to fire events, hazardous material incidents, auto accidents, and search and rescue operations. Prepares post-incident reports as required. Leads or coordinates fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a manager. The FIRE CAPTAIN manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a FIRE CAPTAIN typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team in the Monterey, CA area.
Job Responsibilities
As a Fire Sprinkler Technician, you will be responsible for providing service, testing, and installation of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and associated equipment.
Additional responsibilities of the Fire Sprinkler Technician include:
- Complete all activities related to service and installation of fire protection systems
- Complete fire sprinkler and pump testing documentation
- Customer service, coordination, and communication
- Technical project and administrative support
- Ability to work independently or supervise others as required
- Preparing work schedules, reviewing plans/prints, and carrying out assigned duties
Job Requirements
To qualify for the Fire Sprinkler Technician position, you must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with fire sprinkler systems.
Additional requirements of the Fire Sprinkler Technician Position include:
- NICET Certification (Fire Sprinkler II preferred)
- Proficiency with computer skills, MS Excel, Email
- Strong customer service skills and communications
- Familiarity with NFPA 25 & 13 (National Fire Protection Association) and local codes
