Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fire Fighter works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Position Summary:
Provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students, under the direction and supervision of the principal. The Teacher performs a broad range of teaching services or specific learning programs, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed as a foundation for learning. The Teacher must develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of each student’s ability. Additionally, the Teacher is responsible for maintaining appropriate records and following the required procedures and practices of Henderson County Public Schools.
Qualification and Special Requirements:
If applicant does not currently hold a NC Teacher's license, then applicant must be willing to obtain one through Residency Licensure or Restricted CTE Licensure, which entails educational coursework requirements.
Residency Licensure: Bachelor's degree in related area; 2.7 GPA minimum. Must enroll in a CTE Trade/Industry Education program to complete requirements for Teacher Licensure.
CTE Restricted Licensure requires documented relevant work experience. Applicants may qualify with a Bachelor's degree with two years full time industry-related work experience, an Associate's Degree with four years full time industry-related work experience, or High School diploma with six years full time industry-related work experience.18 semester hours of coursework in the Education field will be determined by a written plan from the Regional Alternative Licensure Center. Completion of all requirements must be met for full licensure.
