Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing effective and compliant fire sprinkler systems for a variety of projects.
Essential Duties
· Produce coordinated/code compliant fire protection designs and hydraulic/seismic calculations in a timely and cost-effective manner for submittal to AHJs and construction drawings for use by installation teams.
· Project manage jobs from sales hand-off to closeouts including (but not limited to) attending meetings, coordinating with other trades, tracking change events, updating schedules, preparing submittals, and documenting correspondence.
· Interpret and apply local, state, and national fire codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA 13) to ensure compliance in system design.
· Provide technical support and guidance to fellow coworkers, AHJs, other trades, field technicians, and installers during the design, installation, and testing of sprinkler systems.
Qualifications
· Ability to pass LiveScan background check for ACE Card
Job Requirements
· Knowledge in fire sprinkler system design, project management, and using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
· Valid Driver’s License
· Be an effective member of the team by taking 100% ownership of all aspects of your projects and strategizing/utilizing your time, every day, for maximum output.
· Stay updated on industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes related to fire sprinkler system design
· May require occasional site visits to inspect ongoing installations, survey existing conditions, or consult with project teams
Related Experience
· 5 years of related fire sprinkler system design experience required
Safety/Physical Requirements
· Ability to walk without seating for extended periods
· Ability to sit without walking for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 25lbs
Education
· Highschool diploma or equivalent
· A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
Reports to: Division 1 manager & PFC manager
Pay Rate: $30.00-$45.00 per hour depending on experience & certifications
