Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fire Fighter works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     - Summit Fire Protection, a member of Summit Companies is a premier firm in the Fire Protection and Fire Life Safety industry. We are currently seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Technician to join our team in our Sioux City, IA office, with a focus on security, fire detection & alarm.

    The successful candidate will be dependable and capable of inspecting, servicing, and maintaining various types of fire detection, fire alarm, CCTV, nurse call, intercom/paging, A/V, Voice/Data, Intrusion, and other similar low voltage systems. Related experience is required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform installations, inspections, and service on a variety of types of fire detection, fire alarm, CCTV, nurse call, intercom/paging, A/V, Voice/Data, Intrusion, and other similar low voltage systems.
    • Seek out additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations, and advise the customer of compliance needs
    • Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retention

    Requirements:

    • A current driver's license
    • Low voltage experience
    • Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge
    • Ability to lift 75 lbs. , safely use of ladders, work overhead and work in tight spaces
    • Work efficiently with minimal supervision
    • Organizational skills are essential for success
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • The ability to learn quickly is a must
    • High school degree or equivalent
