Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fire Fighter works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. (UP TO A $4,000 SIGN-ON-BONUS BASED ON EXPERIENCE)
This position will cover eastern Massachusetts and will oversee Fire Protection Systems installation for all types of new and existing projects. Projects will include Industrial, Commercial and some Residential. Knowledge of NFPA code, design/ installation methods, hydraulic calculations & material lists for fire sprinkler systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Understand design & Layout of Fire Sprinkler Systems
- Hydraulic Calculations, Field Surveying
- Understand listing of system piping for fabrication
- Coordination for installation between trades
- Managing cost and understanding budgets
- NICET certification preferred but not required
- General mechanical knowledge
- Experience in Fire Protection Installation or Design
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Oversee installation labor on assigned projects
