Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fire Fighter works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Fire Sprinkler Fitter
Fire Sprinkler Fitters are pipefitting specialists in the fire protection industry and Western States Fire Protection is seeking qualified applicants for this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, repair and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping
- Responsible for installing and servicing a variety of other fire protection equipment such as standpipes, carbon dioxide systems, halon systems, foam systems and dry chemical systems
- Travel within the state of Idaho to work on various locations / job sites as necessary
- Comply with union collective bargaining agreement
Job Qualifications
- Willing to become a member of the UA Local Union
- A minimum of 5 years' experience is required
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma OR GED required
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; in accordance with Company policy
- Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds
- Willing to climb ladders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willing to pass a post-offer drug test and background check; if applicable
