Fire Inspector jobs in Altoona, PA

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     About the Opportunities

    Liberty Fire Solutions is currently seeking hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is always in high demand and is an essential business that can provide a substantial income with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

    This is a great opportunity to join our team. We will train you to become a licensed, certified Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician. This position will learn the ability to service, inspect and repair kitchen fire suppression systems (found in restaurant kitchens) for established customers on a scheduled basis.

    Salary - paid per hour and is based on experience

    • Potential Quarterly bonuses
    • All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week.

    Qualifications

    • **Must have work history and experience with hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, drills, etc**
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Valid driver's license with 3 or less points
    • Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends for emergency services as needed
    • Willing to learn and study about fire suppression systems
    • Ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers
    • Excellent writing skills and above average attention to details
    • Well organized
