Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. Responsibilities
We are looking for hard working and passionate individuals to join our company and to be part of taking the FireCatt team to greater heights. You will be a member of a 4-6 person team, providing on site fire hose testing for Fire Departments across the country. Teams travel with crews of 4-6 individuals and are out on “loops” serving customers across the United States. A loop can range from 3-4 weeks but typically individual will be out on a loop for three weeks.
Job specific duties include, but are not limited to:
· Daily Set-up/tear down of test equipment on test site
· Work on and around fire trucks
· Unloading and reloading fire hose from fire trucks
· Unrolling/rolling fire hose
· Uncouple/recouple fire hose sections using spanner wrenches
· Strategically mark and number fire hose
· Barcode fire hose
· Lubricate fire hose couplings
· Run a conveyor to assist loading fire hose on top of a fire truck
· Learn to run test equipment for testing fire hose and fire ladders
