Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     Position Overview:  Silco Fire & Security is a l a leading provider of fire protection and security solutions, committed to ensuring the safety and security of our customers.  We are seeking a dedicated Fire and Sprinkler Inspector to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and related safety protocols.
    Responsibilities:
    1. Conduct inspections of fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems in commercial properties according to NFPA standards and local codes.
    2. Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure proper functionality.
    3. Identify and troubleshoot issues with fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including wiring, sensors, control panels, and valves.
    4. Document inspection findings and provide detailed reports to customers, including recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
    5. Stay up to date on industry developments, new technologies, and changes to regulations related to fire protection systems.
    6. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
    7. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and client communications.
    Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or equivalent; additional certification in fire protection is highly preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire alarm and/or sprinkler system inspection and maintenance.
    • Proficient understanding of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local fire safety regulations.
    • Strong technical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair fire alarm and sprinkler system components.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
