Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. Job Summary
We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector that has exceptional attention to detail, who is self-motivated, customer service-oriented, and has great written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Duties
· Conducting fire sprinkler inspections.
· Documenting all results in detailed building reports and/or deficiency reports through the use of a tablet.
· Interacting with building owner/property manager prior to, during, and after completion of the inspection.
· Communication with other departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.
· Training less experienced/newer colleagues on the job.
· Always exhibiting exceptional customer service and professionalism.
· Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Qualifications
· Must have a valid Driver’s License
· Ability to report to multiple jobsites in one day
· Have in-depth knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, codes, and standards including NFPA codes and local building and fire codes
Job Requirements
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and design drawings.
· Basic math skills.
· Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Safety/Physical Requirements
· Ability to continuously walk and stand.

Education
· Must be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law.
