Fire Inspector jobs in Rock Island, IL
Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. To be a Fire Inspector typically requires 7+ years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

We are looking for full-time Inspectors for our Milan and Rock Island, IL locations to perform a variety of duties involved in the inspection of our OEM Cast production parts:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to- 1st piece, in process, and final inspection of parts.
- Calibration and verification of measuring tools like micrometers, dial bore gages, calipers, and custom gages.
- Documentation and recording of inspections and calibrations.
- Review and disposition of non-conforming parts
Skills and abilities required- 3yrs Experience Minimum
- Can operate CMMs and/or Romer arms.
- Experience using measuring devices (calipers, bore gages, surface testers, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Advanced blue print reading.
- Understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds short distances.
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours.
The following skills and abilities would be a plus
- Programming of CMMs and Romer arms.
- PPAP experience.
