Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.   • Summary of the Position: Inspector’s ensure that the guestrooms are cleaned and sanitized meeting the standards of cleanliness; and ready for guest accommodations while complying with safety standards / security procedures. This position is responsible for inspecting the Housekeepers’ work daily ensuring guest rooms are ready for occupancy while meeting guest expectations and brand standards. Assist with other duties in the Houseperson and Housekeepers duties and, on occasion, assist with light-duty maintenance work.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Inspect the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
    • Work with and train housekeepers to ensure daily tasks are completed in time and accurately.
    • Inspect housekeeping carts and closets to ensure that they are properly stocked.
    • Ensure rooms are ready and inspected prior to check-in time and ensure proper amenities are delivered.
    • Maintain cleanliness of resort hallways, stairwells, and elevators (vacuum/carpet exaction).
    • Communicate with the Housekeeping Manager, Director of housekeeping and front desk staff about any housekeeping delays or issues and make necessary changes to room status.
    • Fill out work order tickets as needed and ensure unacceptable rooms are not released back to inventory until items are addressed.
    • Perform open and closing procedures for the housekeeping department in the absence of the Houseperson and Housekeeper.
    • Provide Housekeepers with timely and constructive feedback when quality or time management issues are found. Provide ongoing training to Housekeepers and Houseperson.
    • Report any questions, conflicts, or concerns to the housekeeper managers, Directors of housekeeping or General Manger.
    • Properly handle all Lost & Found.
    • Adhere to company policies & procedures. Always maintain KHG standards.
    • Arrive on time and in proper uniform.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 2 years or more of Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience
    • 1 year of leadership experience
    • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and products.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Be flexible with work schedules, job duties and job locations.
    • Strong time-management skills & multitasking ability
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and work cohesively as part of a team.
    • Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
