Fire Inspector Supervisor oversees the inspection of fire-damaged dwellings to determine cause and prevention. Enforces a variety of fire laws, regulations, and policies. Being a Fire Inspector Supervisor requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Fire Inspector Supervisor relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.     Job Summary

    Inspectors are responsible for having positive communication with customers, coworkers and the public on a daily basis. Responsibilities include performing Testing and Inspection of various Life Safety, Suppression, Security and other systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Please note the essential functions may vary depending on technical knowledge, certification requirements and willingness to excel.

    *Inspects systems for Code Compliance and conditions that would prevent operation.

    *Inspection and certification of new system installs as required by other departments.

    *Tests all equipment to ensure performance of installed systems

    *Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times

    *All documentation is turning on time and filled out completely (example: Building Reports, Servicetrade workorders & Servicetrade Time Clock, etc.)

    *Daily communications with Field Supervisor on delays, requirements and general status of jobs

    *Daily work orders and other documentation is kept up to date with customer requests, worked performed each day, job numbers, dates and times and tasks assigned to technicians.

    *Servicetrade time events are accurate and filled out daily, complete with job numbers, locations, time adds up, hours are correct.

    *All work is performed to National Codes & standards and quality installation techniques are practiced

    *Work with Service Technicians on startup to ensure complete system compliance

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In accordance with applicable Federal/State laws, may perform the following

    *Responsible for all on-site employees (superseded only for code and liability issues)

    *Provide day to day coordination of duties and expectations

    *Ability to request site removal of employee

    *Request disciplinary action

    *Supervision and critique of workmanship

    *Raise and promotion recommendations

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

    *Nicet 2 or Comparable systems Certification’s preferred but not required.

    *CSA in Fire extinguisher, Kitchen Hood, Fire Alarm or Sprinkler preferred but not required.

    Knowledge:

    *3 years working in the Life Safety Test and Inspection Field on a daily basis

    *Ability to read blue prints and schematics

    *Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC, IMC, Life Safety 101 Codes.

    *Knowledge and ability to use and operate required test equipment.

    *Basic AC/DC circuit and safety knowledge

    Skills/Abilities:

    *Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision

    *Ability to finish projects

    *Ability to organize workload for effective implementation

    *Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations

    *Strong customer and results orientation

    *Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures

    *Ability to function with clear and detailed expectations and communication.

    *Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
