CAMP NURSE NEED FOR JUNE 10TH - 28TH

The Camp Fire nurse is responsible for the care and supervision of all medical services. This care includes looking after ill or injured campers or staff, administering medication, communication with parents and counselors, organization of medical information, medications and first-aid kits, as well as keeping records of camper visits.

Payment: $13/hr.

Monday-Friday 7:45 am- 4:15 pm

*Mandatory Training (paid) on June 6th from 1pm to 5pm!*

Requirements:

• Licensed as an RN or LVN in the state of Texas

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications

• Experience working with children and youth

• 21 years of age or older

• Ability to maintain health forms and paperwork

• Ability to maintain and administer all medications

• Ability to make decisions and take initiative under pressure

• Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and setting up the Medical Station

• Making sure inventory of First-Aid kits is supplied and maintained

• Maintain insurance forms and camper health forms including Worker’s Compensation forms

• Keep a daily log of camper’s office visits

• Accept and store all prescription and over-the-counter drugs

• Administer prescription and over-the-counter drugs when necessary

• Assist in providing a staff orientation for the Camp staff and volunteers

• Illness and injury management

• Communication with parents and counselors of camper’s illness or injury

• Be a medical resource that would bridge the gap between basic medical knowledge and emergencies

Providing First Aid for (including but not limited to):

· cuts, scrapes and bruises

· bee stings

· dehydration, sunburn and possible heat exhaustion

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

• LVN (Preferred)
• RN License (Preferred)
