Job Announcement:
Under the direction of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Inspector is responsible for conducting fire inspections for the purpose of correcting potentially hazardous situations, and to comply with established regulatory practices. Employees in this class initiate and participate in various fire prevention programs for the purpose of providing education concerning principles and techniques for preventing fires and acting in fire situations. Responds to fire emergencies as needed. Performs related work as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Texas Commission on Fire Protection- Inspector Certification required.
Texas Commission on Fire Protection - Structural Fire Fighter preferred.
Valid state driver's license. Class B exempt within one year.
This position is classified as an "Emergency Essential" position as described in the City of Alvin's Personnel Policy Manual. These employees may be required to remain or respond in the event of emergency conditions and be available immediately before (Pre-Impact), during (Emergency Period), and/or after the disaster or emergency condition (Post Impact/Recovery), to perform duties directly related to the emergency conditions as determined by the City.
