Fitness Instructor jobs in Atlantic City, NJ

Fitness Instructor coordinates all fitness programs for a facility. Organizes and instructs exercise classes for all fitness levels. Being a Fitness Instructor ensures that all participants are properly trained on the use of the facility's exercise equipment. Responsible for making sure that the exercise area and equipment are safe and clean. Additionally, Fitness Instructor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Fitness Instructor typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities 
    • Lead a wide variety of classes to fitness studio members and guests
    • Develop classes that are physically challenging, while keeping students engaged and safe
    • Encourage students to continue with their pursuit of exercising and help them make good health decisions
    • Promote programs, classes, and membership through social media and networking
    • Deliver exceptional customer service in accordance with business policies
     

    Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED required
    • Current personal trainer or fitness instructor certification
    • Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred 
    • First aid and CPR certified
    • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
