Fitness Instructor coordinates all fitness programs for a facility. Organizes and instructs exercise classes for all fitness levels. Being a Fitness Instructor ensures that all participants are properly trained on the use of the facility's exercise equipment. Responsible for making sure that the exercise area and equipment are safe and clean. Additionally, Fitness Instructor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Fitness Instructor typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Location: Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, IA
Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Less than 19 hours per week
Summary: The purpose of this position is to teach fitness classes to the community and student body at the DHFAC.
Job Duties:- Build community and student relationships teaching fitness classes for the DHFAC.
- Promote fitness for everyone who attends the class.
- Cleans equipment and maintains a clean and safe working environment, including towels.
- Identifies future needs for fitness classes and new wellness center equipment needs.
- Working the wellness center desk, properly cleaning equipment, identifying future needs for fitness classes and wellness center equipment, cleans and maintains the aerobic room and wellness center and cleans towels in wellness center.
Education and Experience: AA Degree
Abilities:
Knowledge of classes and proper training habits and techniques.
