Acara Solutions is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant for our client in Clarence, NY!

We are seeking qualified candidates with:

• Fixed asset accounting experience
• Experience in a large ERP manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of SOX & US GAAP

Here's what you'll do:

• Adhere to company values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform procedures that help ensure the global fixed asset cycle is in full compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Manage daily global fixed assets processes to ensure accounting procedures performed by team occurs accurately and within a timely manner.
• Create fixed asset additions with the sub-ledger based upon review of feedback from business on completed capital projects.
• Record asset retirements and transfers within the Fixed Asset sub-ledger and GL based upon review of feedback from business users.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly global fixed assets reporting and perform variance analyses as necessary.
• Perform primary review over journal entries and account reconciliations, and analyzes balance sheet and operating accounts.
• Collaborate with business partners in global operational departments to ensure effective project accounting and reporting exists within the project accounting subledger and/or spreadsheets.
• Assist the Sr. Manager, Accounting with various account analyses, as needed.
• Adhere to deadlines of quarterly reporting schedules, as needed.
• Ensure the overall maintenance of pertinent evidence substantiating internal control procedures performed.
• Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support the Corporate Tax department on recording tax basis fixed asset depreciation and any necessary tax asset projects or tax reform impacting assets.
• Performs other duties as required.

Type: Contract to Possible Direct

Pay: Up to $45/hr. **Depending on experience

Hours: M-F 1st shift hours **Hybrid schedule

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4 years' accounting experience, including fixed asset transactions.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• CPA preferred.
• Experience in a large ERP manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of SOX & US GAAP.
