Advantage Resourcing is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to join our team in Lafayette, LA.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education

As a Fixed Assets Accountant, you will oversee all activities related to the design, use, improvement, reconciliation, and maintenance of the inventory and fixed assets accounting system. This role collaborates with various stakeholders across functions to ensure the accurate and timely collection of data. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing financial data and providing insights to address business opportunities. Working closely with multiple professionals in the accounting department, you will actively contribute to the daily management of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage all cost and fixed assets accounting activities to facilitate informed business decisions.
• Control and audit inventory transactions for accuracy, recommending and implementing practices and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform fixed asset accounting functions to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close, including calculation of monthly depreciation, capitalization of CIP projects, and retirements.
• Report monthly variances on capital expenditures to FP&A and Operations group.
• Coordinate and execute the financial reporting component of the external audit, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Build and maintain robust process documentation for Fixed Assets, including flow charts and desk procedures.
• Prepare GL journal entries and monthly accruals to assist in the month-end close, prioritizing workload in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5 years of Cost Accounting and Fixed Assets experience
• Prior experience at a national or top regional public accounting firm or a large corporate accounting department
