The Senior Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. Your responsibilities in this role
- Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
- Assist in general ledger preparation and audits
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
- Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
- Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants
- Create internal cost audits
- Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
- Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
- Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided
- Estimate new and proposed product costs
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
- Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory
- Log a detailed record of collected data
- Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
