Fleet Administrator assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Core Responsibilities

    • Selected candidates must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions, do extensive driving, walking, climbing, standing, push/pull/lift 50-60 pounds unassisted, work on ladders and various elevations. The candidate is required to complete all career path training. The candidate will be able to work overtime, extended hours, various shifts, and respond to storm and emergency operational conditions on a 24/7 basis as required.
    • Perform Pre and Post trip DOT inspections.
    • Ensure safe and proper load securement of material and equipment for transport.
    • Ensure accurate time reporting.
    • Respond to system emergency conditions as required.
    • Complete all career path and related training to the position.
    • Ensure safe transport of company material and equipment following all city, state, and federal regulations.
    • Maintain a CDL A license.
    • Able to drive Manual Transmissions (Stick Shift).

    Required Education/Experience

    • High School Diploma/GED

    Relevant Work Experience

    • CDL A license Required
    • Metal Coil Endorsement "M" operating tractor trailers upon hire Required

    Licenses & Certifications

    • Driver's License CDL A Required
    • Other: Metal Coil Endorsement Code M Upon Hire Required

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to respond to system emergencies
    • Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
    • Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
    • Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
    • Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
    • Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
    • Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
    • Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
    • Unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various operating facilities
    • Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
    • Use hand-eye coordination to adjust controls on equipment
    • Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
    • Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
