Fleet Administrator jobs in Santa Fe, NM

Fleet Administrator assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Fleet Service Worker/Porter

  • This is an entry-level classification which initially works under close supervision as a part of the fleet maintenance team. Incumbents learn and perform routine custodial and maintenance duties. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise.
    • Serves as a member of the Fleet Operations maintenance team; pre and post trips vehicles, collecting debris and equipment; performs fleet interior and exterior vehicle cleaning.
    • Fuels or charges vehicles.
    • Acts as a “shuttling” driver to relocate buses and other District vehicle inventory to needed to service sites or to deliver to maintenance locations.
    • Assists as a mechanic helper; provides hands-on help to mechanics engaged in complex operations.
    • Washes and cleans buses as needed
    • Observes and complies with all District and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Licenses and Certifications: 

    • Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
    • Possession of, or successful acquisition within six (6) months of employment, a valid State of New Mexico Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A or B) with multi-passenger “P” endorsement and airbrake certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
