Fleet Administrator, Sr. assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator, Sr. prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator, Sr. may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • This position leads the Technical Services organization for OPC by setting and implementing its strategic direction to efficiently and effectively provide technical support of the OPC owned and operated generating fleet. As the leader of this organization, they are responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and reporting on technical issues across the fleet, leading and developing a team of multi-disciplined engineering managers, as well as establishing and maintaining the standards, processes, and practices that govern the Technical Services organization. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the Technical Services organization maintains compliance with corporate policies and procedures, mandatory electric reliability standards, FERC, EPA, OSHA, and all applicable governmental regulations. It is critical that this role establish close working relationships with their Plant Operations peers to successfully provide support of a safe, reliable, and cost-effective generating fleet.

    Job Duties:

    • Lead the strategic planning and direction-setting for the Technical Services department while overseeing its daily operations, including monitoring and reporting functions.
    • Collaborate with Plant Operations, Environmental, Capital Projects, and other fleet support teams to meet safety, reliability, and financial objectives.
    • Champion leadership development within the department, acting as a mentor to senior technical staff and cultivating a team of leaders who can carry forward the strategic objectives of the organization. The team of leaders will ensure the team can meet the technical needs of a growing and evolving generating fleet.
    • Develop and maintain technical standards, practices, and procedures. Stay current with OPC's policies and procedures.
    • Prepare, review and track annual expense budget for the Technical Services department.
    • Provide project support to Capital Projects and Plant Operations departments, including the ownership and management of technical specifications, project oversight, strategic deployment of subject matter expertise, and change management.
    • Cultivate strategic relationships with equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, and industry groups to leverage technology and innovative solutions.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree with preference in Engineering, or Engineering Technology

    Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience working in a leadership role with a minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience. Electric utility industry experience is required with a strong technical background providing extensive knowledge of power plant design, operation and maintenance. Working knowledge of project concepts, principles and practices. Working knowledge of corporate financial reporting systems as applicable in a projects environment. Must have demonstrated experience producing high-level results in a dynamic environment functioning with minimal supervision.

    Specialized Skills: Proficiency with the suite of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Proficiency with a project scheduling software, such as MS Project, Primavera or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as inter-personal skills, interacting with all levels of the organization are essential. Professional engineering license is a plus.
