Fleet Administrator, Sr. assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator, Sr. prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator, Sr. may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. GENERAL PURPOSE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CORE COMPENTENCIES:
Completes and evaluates preventive maintenance for all light duty and heavy-duty vehicles.
Operates a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
Ability to operate a variety of diagnostic instruments.
Inspects, adjusts, and replaces related parts in the performance of minor repair and maintenance work.
Mounts, balance, and installs tires and wheels.
Evaluates status of mechanical, hydraulic equipment and vehicles, and performs or assists in scheduled needed repairs.
Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license and comply with City of Killeen driving policy.
Ability to safely operate a forklift and other lifting devices.
Provides road call assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate.
Enters work order updates and progress in a computer-based maintenance program.
Maintains the security of issued city owned equipment. (e.g., tools, toolbox, safety equipment)
Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must have a valid driver's license by date of hire.
2. Must obtain and maintain a Texas Driver's License within 90 days of hire.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle mechanical maintenance and repair work; mechanic’s tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for minor repairs and routine maintenance of motorized vehicles; electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment; safety equipment, as necessary; telephone; mobile or portable radio; personal computer, including fleet maintenance software; tire mount/balancer, and safety equipment as required.
