Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Rolling Plains Management Corporation is now accepting applications for a full time Fleet Maintenance Assistant for our SHARP Lines Transportation Program. The Fleet Maintenance Assistant helps to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all SHARP Lines services and establishes and monitors the preventive maintenance program in assigned area. This position is responsible for on-going processes to identify equipment, equipment routine maintenance requirements, current actual cost, estimated cost and proposed estimated cost. Must have knowledge of procurement methods and processes and have the ability to learn financial processes for reports, work orders and upload files in the File Bound system. The position must communicate clearly, professionally and in a timely manner with company employees. The Transportation Maintenance Assistant must represent the company to its customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Applicants must have a GED or high school diploma with knowledge of mechanical functions of transportation vehicles such as identifying odd noises, check engine lights, flashers, headlights and taillights, etc. One year experience in maintenance or related field preferred. The candidate will have excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook with one to two years of data entry experience. Experience working with other software including Transit software a plus. The candidate must have the ability to work both independently with good time management skills and flexibility. Must be able to work in a team environment with good interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management, both orally and in writing. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and possess reliable work habits and be able to read and comprehend reports. The ideal candidate will have experience with procurement of purchases. Must be able to balance a variety of duties, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, however, hours may vary to cover transportation operations. Some travel will be required for training and operations. The Fleet Maintenance Assistant is a safety sensitive position.
