Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Job Overview:
Iroquois Bar Corp owns and operates approximately 60 Class 8 vehicles, 10 pickup trucks and approximately 10 pieces of various construction equipment. Iroquois is a redi-mix concrete supplier and offers trucking services (dump trucks) for hire. Iroquois is also a General Contractor performing interior select demolition. Iroquois has vehicles stationed at 4 locations and service repair shops at 2 of those locations.
The main duty of the Fleet Manager is to manage all personnel related to the maintenance of the vehicles and equipment. The Fleet Manager should keep detailed records of all services completed, schedule services and PM intervals, ensure fleet is compliant with NYSDOT and FMCSA standards. Our ideal candidate would be experienced in heavy truck and equipment repairs and also highly organized and able to think analytically to improve fleet efficiencies.
