Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. FLEET Journeyman
General Description
Under limited supervision, assigned daily work. May be required to explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various cleanup activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Specific Description include but not limited to:
Some automotive and light duty truck diagnosis and repairs. Makes necessary repairs, beyond minor. Can diagnose and repair electrical system, cooling system, braking system, fuel system (gasoline / propane) and steering system. Be able to operate in a safe manner drill press, engine tune-up meters, lap-top computers and related shop equipment. Operates electrical test equipment used in the repair and diagnosis of electrical components. Operates and drive all above mentioned equipment. This is only a brief overview but not limited to what we are looking for.
Site Specific Heavy Equipment Description:
Will perform Light and Heavy Maintenance on Perform Light Duty Maintenance on several types of forklifts, genie lifts, and JLG's (remove/replace air filters, grease, engine oil/filter changes, change fuel filters, clean fuel injectors, maintain hydraulic filters/fluids, all lighting/lighting signals
Skills and Qualifications
. High School Diploma/GED
. Automotive Certification such as EPA 608
. Manufacture (s) Certification (s) Specific Make/Models
