The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for being the main driver of our Fleet department, reporting directly to the Director of Operations, Fleet and Supply Chain respectively, and fulfills a critical role in the operations of our company. The person is directly responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of our fleet department, optimal administration of our organization’s fleet of motor vehicles, whilst ensuring compliance with our fleet management vendors, federal and local state rules & regulations. The person would be the main architect in maintaining and upgrading the lifecycle & Asset management of our fleet (light, medium and heavy duty), DOT and other regulatory functions as well as optimal collaborations with our internal and external stakeholders that include but not limited to retail & wholesale locations, asset accounting, and vendor management companies.
Essential Functions

Act as a primary focal point for all fleet operations related activities within the company.
- Lead, develop an effective plan and monitor the results to ensure 100% fleet operations compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations throughout our business footprint.
- Lead a team of fleet specialists to maintain electronics databases (internal and external 3rd party collaborators) of titles, registrations inspections, and maintenance of fleet assets.

Establish optimal policies, contracts, procedures for laying down effective systems of running an effective fleet system.

Possess comprehensive knowledge and cultivate collaborative relationships working with 3rd party vendor specialists, negotiation of long-term contracts for more profitable agreements, spot buying processes and maintaining relationships for potential vendors.

Identify, define, and implement consistent and repeatable series of innovative solutions that culminates in long term policies and processes that increase both the safety and lifecycle/cost associated with fleet assets and programs.

Leverage extensive knowledge of supply chain related to fleet/ logistics operations to drive the total cost of ownership and maintenance of the internal fleet system, drive costs down while upgrading the fleet management system within the company.

Highly efficient in preparation of reports, development of metrices/ dashboards for senior management on the overall status of fleet operations and procurement strategies.
Supervisor Responsibilities-
Manage a fleet team comprising of three current Fleet Specialists.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 or more years of related experience working in a wholesale/retail business, preferably agricultural environment with experience in fleet/ logistics, supply chain, or similar position.

Prefer proven work experience as a Fleet/Logistics/ Supply Chain Senior Manager, Head of Logistics, Lead Fleet Specialists or in similar positions.
- Prior experience of DMV/ DOT regulations and policies is highly preferred.

5 or more years of experience with fleet management (tractor, trailers, trucks etc.)

Proven competency of financial and data-based decision making.

Comprehensive knowledge of analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive and creative with ability to seek out innovative solutions to business problems.

Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.

Strong proficiency and practical experience with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting; however, this position could also have light travel and visits to agricultural and warehouse environments.
