Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fleet Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     SUMMARY 

    As Fleet Manager, your objective is to effectively manage and optimize the company's fleet operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and cost-efficiency. You would be responsible for overseeing the purchasing, registration, and management of the company’s fleet vehicles in all territories. Implement strategic initiatives to enhance fleet performance, minimize downtime, and contribute to overall operational excellence. Continuously improve processes, foster a culture of safety, and leverage technology for real-time monitoring and decision-making, ultimately enhancing the company's competitiveness and customer satisfaction.

    Part-time (to start): about 20hrs/week (REMOTE)

    Responsibilities

    • DOT compliance coordinating with Compliance Officer. 
    • You will be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have a strong work ethic.
    • Identify suitable trucks for the company’s operational needs, considering capacity, fuel
    • efficiency, safety features.
    • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of new vehicles and negotiate favorable terms.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish routine maintenance schedules for trucks.
    • Monitor to ensure that all vehicles are well-maintained and comply with safety standards.
    • Coordiate with repair facilities for timely and cost-effective repairs.
    • Develop and implement strategies for the timely disposal of aging or obsolete vehicles.
    • Oversee the vehicle registration process, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and
    • up to date.
    • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to
    • vehicle registration, emissions, and safety.
    • Develop and manage the fleet budget, including expenses related to purchasing, maintenance,
    • fuel, and registration.
    • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or operational efficiency.
    • Implement fuel efficiency strategies and monitor fuel consumption.
    • Negotiate with fuel providers to secure cost-effective fuel options.
    • Analyze fuel data and recommend improvements for optimizing fuel efficiency.
    • Implement tracking systems to monitor the location and usage of all fleet vehicles.
    • Generate regular reports on fleet performance, including maintenance costs, fuel consumption,
    • and vehicle utilization.
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers.
    • Negotiate favorable contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs for drivers.
    • Ensure that drivers are compliant with safety regulations and provide ongoing training as needed.
    • Continuously build relationships within the community to foster sales efforts.
    • Enter successful customer conversions into GM1 and work with operations support to schedule a timely delivery.
    • Provide outstanding customer service including assessing and resolving customer problems.
    • Professionally handle new business and existing customers via phone, text, email, and walk-ins.
    • Work with leadership to implement and execute marketing plans.
    • Keep the facility and portable containers rented at optimum levels by exercising your customer service and relation skills.
    • Follow up on delinquencies through phone, text, emails, and letters.
    • Show, rent, and clean self-storage units and Go Mini’s Portable Containers.
    • Ensure leasing paperwork is completed and log payment details.
    • Maintain properties and grounds.
    • Coordinate and negotiate with vendors for repairs, maintenance, and facility upkeep.
    • Ability to operate within all local and state laws/codes regarding evictions, and auctions.
    • Drive a 25ft company delivery truck to deliver storage containers to clients (average 60 mile round-trip)
    • Ensure safe delivery without damaging client property or the containers.
    • Update delivery system with proof of delivery
    • Driver must obey all safety protocols, follow instructions.
    • Safe operation and control of the 4300 International box trucks/roll backs
    • Loading and unloading the Go-Mini Portable containers both empty and full
    • Maneuver trucks into loading zones, secure containers with tie downs and safety chains
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections, report any issues to supervisor immediately.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to crush it ~ Every Day.
    • Prior management experience required (additional staff may report to this position).
    • 5 years of sales experience and 5 years customer service experience.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Knowledge of local and state HR laws.
    • Ability to drive a flat-bed truck and work a winch.
    • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
    • Must be computer literate with experience with MS Office Suite.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to various web-based software products including CRM software.
    • Background check, drug screen, and MVR required.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds without injury to person or property.
    • Ability to travel to other locations as required.
    • Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred

    Compensation: 40k-50k Dependent on experience
