Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fleet Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Responsibilities:

    • Manages all aspects of location, including associates, facilities, and service and parts departments.
    • Meets regularly with customers to develop and build relationships and understands customer needs for all products and services.
    • Meet customer’s service requirements and equipment availability requirements.
    • Leads weekly shop meetings with all shifts.
    • Performs the on-boarding of new associates.
    • Completes and conducts associate performance reviews.
    • Maintains technician training requirements for location.
    • Authorizes and tracks associate vacation schedules.
    • Arranges and administers associate work schedules.
    • Oversees building and yard cleanliness.
    • Coordinate's location jobs and projects.
    • Manages Safety program, which includes Material Safety Data Sheets and/or SDS, performing safety inspections, ensuring safety rules are being followed.
    • Processes maintenance requests forms submitted from associates.
    • Monitors the efficiency of the Service and Parts departments.
    • Answers phones.
    • Serves as back-up for supervisors and administration associates, if needed.
    • Work on the shop floor to help during vacations and busy times.
    • Coordinates and processes internal warranties.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all company information.
    • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead a skilled team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    Requirements & Qualifications:

    • The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
    • Completion of high school education or equivalent.
    • Must possess a toolbox and required tools.
    • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the semi and trailer repair industry.
    • Strong technical knowledge of semi and trailer repair processes, equipment, and industry standards.
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technicians, customers, and vendors.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the repair industry.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
