Flight Inspector (Jet) inspects aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure safe flying and conformance to specifications and government regulations and procedures. Oversees part installation and inspects adjustments or modifications to existing parts. Being a Flight Inspector (Jet) performs preflight and post flight inspections identifying any breach of standards for safe flight. Requires a high school diploma, a flight inspector license. Additionally, Flight Inspector (Jet) typically reports to the Chief Flight Inspector. The Flight Inspector (Jet) independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. As a Jet Ski guide, you and 1-2 other guides will lead groups of jet skiers out onto the water and into an “open ride” area. While on the water you will monitor riders to ensure that they are staying within the boundaries, avoiding sandbars & jetties, and keeping a safe distance from other jet skis and boats.
Jet ski guides responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Fitting life jackets
-Instructing riders on how to use a jet ski
-Leading riders on the water to the free ride area
-Ensuring that riders maintain a slow speed in the no wake zone
-Explaining and enforcing boundaries for riders
-Constantly monitoring riders
-Docking boats and jet skis
-Refueling and cleaning jet skis and boats
-Upholding safety standards
-Ability to stay calm and diffuse heightened situations
-Mechanical work on Jet skis (oil change, changing battery, pumping out liquid, etc)
Having an outgoing personality and a positive attitude is a must! Jet ski guides must be able to get on and off boats and jet skis efficiently, work outdoors in a hot environment, as well as be able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds and push 100 pounds. Being dependable and having a flexible schedule, including working nights (rare but can happen), weekends, and holidays is extremely important. Boating experience is highly preferred, but not mandatory (we will train the right candidate).
