Being a Flight Inspector (Jet) performs preflight and post flight inspections identifying any breach of standards for safe flight. Requires a high school diploma, a flight inspector license. Additionally, Flight Inspector (Jet) typically reports to the Chief Flight Inspector. Job Description
Ensure personnel, facilities and equipment are in compliance with company and/or customer safety policies.
Review safety handbook and implement company safety program.
Identify potential hazards in order to prevent accidents/injuries. Investigate any accidents.
Notify company management of unsafe practices, facilities, and equipment.
Physical and visual inspection of personnel and facilities.
Ensure facilities and equipment for compliance with safety rules/regulations; coordinate with Department Supervisors to implement corrective actions; recognize and eliminate safety hazards for accident prevention.
Advise personnel of safety hazards or improper use of PPE and/or equipment. Inform supervisors and management of personnel that violate company safety policies.
Record safety violations for review by management. Investigate incidents in order to prevent further accidents or injuries.
Establish quality standards, inspection, test and recording and reporting methods.
Performs quality verification inspections to dimensional drawing requirements.
Perform calibration and operation of a wide range of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
Maintain inspection records, evaluate inspection trend data and prepare reports describing test results.
Perform visual and physical inspections.
Sampling, and testing of sub-assemblies and large completed units with exacting tolerances for precise workmanship.
Using testing apparatus and equipment for conformance to electrical, mechanical, and other requirements.
Prepare and issue quality certifications.
Monitor compliance with established quality standards.
Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years of Safety Inspector, or comparable experience.
Familiarity with 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industry Standards
Familiarity with 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Standards.
Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 preferred.
Microsoft Word & Excel.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, manuals and work instruction.
