The Erie County Technical School will accept applications for the following full-time professional union position to begin with the 2024-2025 school year. Please refer to the position details below for specifics about the position.

Cosmetology Instructor

The starting salary range is roughly $44,000 to $54,000 based on industry experience, teaching experience, and/or level of education. You must have or be willing to obtain Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 Clearances. Candidates without appropriate teaching certification through the PDE must be willing to complete coursework requirements through Indiana University of Pennsylvania to obtain vocational teacher certification.

Cosmetology Instructor – CIP Code 12.0401.

The instructor is responsible for developing and implementing an instructional program focusing on cosmetology (hair cutting, setting, styling techniques, haircoloring, permanent waving, skin care, facials, make-up techniques, manicures, pedicures, anatomy, physiology, and salon management). Individuals that possess the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, relate well to others and be creative are encouraged to apply.

Position Requirements:

Candidates that have a current PA Cosmetology Teacher License from the Department of State Professional and Occupational Affairs and meet one the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

1. Possess a PDE Vocational Teaching certification in Cosmetology.

2. Have a minimum of 4 years of wage-earning industry experience in Cosmetology with a willingness to obtain the Vocational Certification in Education.

Other Items to Note:

· Experience working with high school students and teaching in a CTE environment are preferred.

· Interested candidates are highly encouraged to review Pennsylvania’s Occupational Assessment Competency Manual to review the education and certification requirements necessary for this position.
