The Flight Center is different from other flight schools or flying clubs in a number of ways. We have a strong flying club feel and a great sense of community. We have many events each month, both training and social. We are a Part 61 school with a strong, thorough syllabus which is the most effective way we know to create highly competent pilots who enjoy the training experience.

Note: We don’t have a minimum hours requirement. New CFIs are welcome to apply. You must have basic flight skill competency as listed, and be able to extend your knowledge and skills via participating in our training program. We are always looking for safe, enthusiastic, and effective flight instructors.
Newly hired CFIs go through a paid 2 1/2-week training program (June 3rd - June 19th) that covers SCFC teaching methodologies, SCFC’s Private Pilot syllabus, local airspace familiarization, business policies/procedures, and fleet checkouts. At the end of the four weeks, candidates that demonstrate competency in all phases of the program are assigned students and join the club as staff instructors.
