JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to the basic patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Actual job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Ability to use effective communication skills to allow you to work with patients, families and caregivers.
Ability to obtain competency in assisting nurses with patient care as delegated.
Ability to follow oral and written directions accurately and thoroughly, and observe/respond to needs of patients.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Experience and comfort with using computers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS preferred; must receive certification within three months of start date.
Nurse Aide Certificate.
Medical Assistant Certification/Diploma.
EMT Certification.
Experience working in an acute care setting.
