Floor Assembler operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures. Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Being an Floor Assembler tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards. May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels. Additionally, Floor Assembler keeps daily assembly production records. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Floor Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Ability to speak, read and understand English
Ability to work in a drug-free work place and to pass a drug screen
Primary responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures to protect self and others
Work with product research and development and engineering to prepare equipment for release to customers.
Ability to operate a punch press
Ability to lift and carry 20 – 70 pounds
Ability to manipulate metal, fiberglass, and plastics
