Assembly Supervisor – 1^st Shift – Abilene, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 1^st Shift Assembly Supervisor for our facility in Abilene, KS. 

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data, such as types quantities and specifications of products in order to plan department operations.
• Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for assembly; utilize knowledge of production processes and methods and machine and equipment capabilities.
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate assembly activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Review production and operation reports and resolve assembly problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Compile, store, and retrieve production data using a computer
• Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
• Complete measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Measuring instrument operation
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Previous manager or supervisor experience preferred.
