Floor Broker receives buy and sell orders from clients or company executives and completes these orders on the securities trading floor. Evaluates market volatility and ensures clients receive the best rate available. Being a Floor Broker requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and may require state licensure. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Floor Broker typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Floor Helpers normally participate as part of a team, however, on occasion floor helpers are given assignments requiring them to work independently. Depending on the work schedule, assignments can and often do change frequently from general cleaning, painting, sorting parts, etc… Whether working as a team or independently normal daily tasks will require the floor helper to lift variable weights, bend, twist, use basic hand tools, push or pull and think safety on every task. Floor Helpers, due to the nature of the job, continuously shift body weight, hand location and grip reducing static posture positioning.
